Encounter God Retreat
Encounter God is a retreat that provides an opportunity for intense spiritual growth. The goal is to experience the freedom that God has made available to believers. Freedom from guilt, freedom from sin, freedom from hurts, freedom from 'strongholds' - those areas of our lives that have not yet been brought under the Lordship of Christ. This retreat is offered on a Friday night/Saturday schedule. Lunch and snacks will be provided and child care is available. The cost is $20.00. Information brochures about this retreat are available on the Small Group's wall in the Welcome Center. For more information contact Mike Mueller .

Gift Discovery
Are you confused about God's plan for your life? Every person that knows Christ has been given a special gift designed just for them. Since we all have varied kinds of gifts, each of us has a unique contribution for the Kingdom of God. In Gift Discover we learn, discuss, and experience the following:

  1. Spiritual Gifts are given to followers Jesus Christ
  2. All Believers have Spiritual Gifts
  3. We are to use our Gifts for the Kingdom of God
  4. We learn about the Spiritual Gifts described in the Bible
  5. We learn about our personal Spiritual Gifts through a Spiritual Gift inventory
  6. We create a personal Ministry Mission Statement
  7. We can begin a coaching relationship with a Gift Discovery Coach that will help find the sweet spot of joyful serving.

This a four week class that has a small amount of pre-class work is needed for the class. Information concerning the pre-class work.  For more information contact Mike Potts.

Do you have more month than money at the end of each month? Do money worries consume your thoughts? The Good $ense budget course can help you realize the joy of financial freedom. In this six session class, participants receive practical help and guidance to: prioritize financial goals, develop a personalized spending plan, identify action steps to reduce expenses, reduce debt, and much more. There is no need to fear, at no time during class will your personal financial situation be discussed or shared. This course offers much more than learning experiences about budgets and finances, the course allows participants to reflect on their relationship to money and how it impacts their relationship to God.  For more information contact Frank Tuck .

Ministry Team Training
At New Horizon, we believe the most important statistic in the Church is not how many people are sitting in chairs, but how many people are serving in ministry. Scripture teaches that every believer in Christ is a minister of Christ. We hold fast to United Methodism's roots which demonstrates the power of God working through lay ministers, and we are keenly aware that our mission can only be accomplished through a team of people who have been gifted and called by God for ministry. Everyone desiring to become a member of New Horizon has the unique opportunity to be Christ?s minister as a Ministry Team Member.

This training is the basic introduction to our church family. This training is designed to clearly explain New Horizon's mission, visions, and values. This class is a one session, five hour class with a meal. Child care is available with advance registration. For more information contact Patty Altstetter .

Believing God

Is freedom a reality in your life? Beth Moore's Breaking Free: Making Liberty in Christ a Reality in LIfe leads you through a study of the Scriptures to discover the transforming power of Christian freedom. Based on Isaiah 61:1-4 this in-depth study draws parallels between the captive Israelites and today's believers.

Most Christians today do not fully enjoy the abundant life God intended. God intends for us to:

  • know God & believe Him
  • glorify God
  • find satisfaction in God
  • experience God's peace
  • enjoy God's presence

Beth uses scripture to point out the benefits of our relationship with God and shows you how to remove obstacles that hinder that relationship. This 11-week study will meet on Wednesdays at New Horizon from 6:30 - 8:30 pm, beginning with an Introduction evening May 28th.

The Small Group Experience
Since 1994, Small Groups have been the very heart of New Horizon. We've laughed, cried, studied the Bible, prayed, loved, supported encouraged, watched movies, eaten popcorn, had fun, and shared life together. Through Small Groups, we develop relationships that are meaningful and real. But what if after hearing all this you're still unsure. For six weeks at the New Horizon building you will have an opportunity to experience a small group. This Small Group experience is limited to the first 12 people that sign-up. Child care is available. For more information contact Jackson Price.
