Encounter God is a weekend retreat that provides an opportunity for intense spiritual growth.  The goal is for you to experience Christ’s healing in every area of your life.  Because the retreat focuses on surrendering to Christ’s lordship and receiving His wholeness, the theme verse is James 5:16 “...confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed”. 

The Encounter God Retreat also emphasizes John 10:10 where Jesus says, “The thief comes only to steal and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” As you bring different areas of your live to the Lord and receive prayer, God will bring freedom and life abundant.  People come to the retreat with a same-gender partner, or a partner is prayerfully assigned before the retreat begins.

How Does It Work?

People come to the retreat with a partner, or a partner is prayerfully assigned before the retreat begins.  Early in the retreat you learn a simple but effective prayer pattern to be used with your partner.  After an introduction of the basic principles the retreat follows a simple, twofold pattern.  First there is a brief 15 minute presentation on a topic.  Following this presentation there is a ministry time where you and your partner use the prayer pattern to pray for each other.  The weekend concludes with a small group prayer circle which often  becomes a powerful highlight of the entire retreat.

The cost of the retreat is $20. 

Bring with you:

· Bible and pen

· Sense of expectancy

· Optional: A partner (someone with whom you are comfortable sharing; if you don’t have one, you will be paired with someone else at the retreat).  This person must be the same gender as you.  If you don’t bring a partner, you will be prayerfully partnered with someone else.
