Early Childhood (3 - 5 year olds)
Our primary ministry to children in Early Childhood is our Sunday morning experiences. Knowing we have been entrusted for one hour with these curious and wiggly God-trusting souls we incorporate as much as we can into each lesson while providing a consistent routine.
Here's a look at our Sunday mornings:
Activities and Stations
Entering Adventureland is a busy and fun time of getting settled, exploring and playing with lots of toys and friends.
Transition Time
Everyone helps clean up the toys and activities and travels to the Large Group room for the day’s lesson. (Traveling may be flying like an airplane, walking backward, skipping or whatever the group can imagine.)
Large Group Time
A hopping time where basic ground rules are reviewed, the month’s memory verse is practiced, prayer happens, songs are sung with motions and dancing, a Bible story is told in a creative-interactive manner, an application activity helps the children apply the Bible story to their lives and a puppet show with Theo, the Golden Retriever puppet reinforced the day’s Bible story and application.
Small Group Time
After a transition back to the classroom a second activity applying the Bible story to the children’s lives is presented followed by a prayer time for individual needs.
Snack
The children enjoy a small snack and cup of water while sitting with their friends. If your child has a food allergy please alert the classroom teachers each Sunday.
Pick Up Time
Following snack a coloring sheet of the day’s Bible story is offered along with the option to return to the activities and stations offered earlier while parents begin to pick up.
My Bible Hugs and My Bible Playground are given out as devotion options for young children and lets those who bring children to Adventureland know what was discussed.
