Current Serving Opportunities:

New Horizon has a wide variety of opportunities to help people connect with God and with each other through serving.  You may know exactly what you'd like to do by looking through the "How We Serve" section of the website.  Feel free to email the contact person listed.  But some of you are a little less sure but are interested in serving.  Please contact Patty to assist you. 

Below are just a few of our most current serving opportunities:

Small Groups Ministry Team

Small Group Leader:

Our small group leaders are passionate Ministry Team Members who have attended a small group workshop and sense God's leading to shepherd a small group.  These people possess a genuine desire to serve and minister to others. Groups meet weekly, bi-weekly or monthly. All small group leaders are linked to a well-organized system of small group coaches.  For more information contact: Teresa Pratt or at 309/723-5881.

Children's Ministry Team

Adventureland Snack-a-teer:

The way to a kid’s heart (and most adults) is through their stomach.  In Adventureland we serve a small snack to the kids each Sunday.  The snack time is their time to sit with their friends and build community.  The person who serves as a Snack-a-teer, fills small cups with a snack and serves water.  Approximate time commitment: 30 minutes, ideally before the 8:30 service or during it.  Supplies are provided.  Serve 1, 2, or 3 Sundays a month.  For more information contact: Jennifer or at 359-8909. 

Adventureland Greeter:

Our greeters help families who are new to New Horizon and families who attend on a regular basis check their kids into Adventureland.  A hospitable and friendly demeanor and basic computer skills are needed.  Greeters are asked to serve from 15 minutes before a service begins through its entirety helping with hallway supervision, small administrative tasks and delivering snacks to the classrooms.   Current openings for Greeters are at the 8:30 and 11:10 services, 2 Sundays a month.   For more information contact: Jennifer or at 359-8909.

Axis Snack Shack:

Each week during our Wednesday Axis Student night we serve a meal to the students and volunteers who attend. If you are interested in providing/cooking a meal for approximately fifty people once a month or if you are interested in helping serve a meal once or twice a month please contact Dave Plemons or 359-8909.
