Community Organizations we Support
Champaign County Christian Health Center (CCCHC) –Not for profit health center serving the uninsured in Champaign, Urbana & Rantoul. Volunteer opportunities include hospitality, interpreters, spiritual care and liscensed professionals for triage. For more information go to their website: www.ccchc2003.org
Christian Mercy & Justice Network (CMJN) The purpose of this organization is to bring churches in the CU area together to address mercy & justice issues through information sharing and community service events. A yearly event that CMJN coordinates is the Family Resource Day held in August at Salt & Light. Last year over 800 filled backpacks were distributed along with food & clothing giveaways and health checkups. The website for the Network is www.cmjnetwork.org
Serving Opportunities include: attending monthly CMJNmeeting, coordinating New Horizon school supply collection, volunteer to help with Family Resource Day in August.

Cunningham Children’s Home Located in Urbana Il, Cunningham serves children who are 6-21 years of age who are dealing with a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues. There are many ways to help including prayer, quilt making & collecting Campbells soup labels. For more details go to www.cunninghamhome.org .
empty tomb A Christian organization that helps churches show Jesus love through serving the poor. Small groups and individuals can serve in a variety of ways including food and clothing distribution, health services, furniture delivery, and home maintenance.

Faith in Action A program through Provena Covenant Hospital lending a helping hand to seniors in Champaign, Urbana & Savoy. Serving opportunities include helping with chores, friendly visit, meal prep, transportation, shopping. They offer Chore Days for groups as well. Email Faith in Action at fia@provena.org
Restoration Urban Ministries (RUM) Offers transitional housing & spiritual care for displaced and homeless families. Restoration believes that through God’s strength & love, people are enabled to turn their lives around. Ongoing needs include FOOD, Home goods for Kitchen/ Bath, Bus Tokens, laundry detergent, office supplies, and seasonal clothing. Used cars and appliances such as microwaves, tv’s or refrigerators are also needed. Website www.restorationurbanministries.com
Salt & Light 1512 Anthony Dr., Ch. A ministry whose mission is to share God’s love by helping meet the needs of those in poverty. They distribute food & clothing and offer financial classes & counseling. Volunteer hours are 9-5 M-F, 8-12 1st Sat of Month, and 6-8pm 1st Tues of Month. TIMES Center A transitional living program serving homeless men in Champaign County. The program also supports a community soup kitchen serving 3 meals daily.
