34 life - changing weeks studying God’s Word - the Bible!

DISCIPLE Bible Study is designed to transform lives and develop strong, growing Christians in local churches through the in-depth study of Scripture. 

DISCIPLE Bible Study has been an integral part of New Horizon from our first year. New Horizon believes strong, biblically nourished leadership will help our church grow in vitality and Christian discipleship.

There are three separate DISCIPLE Bible Studies, each class meets for two-and-a half-hour once a week – transforming participants into Disciples of Christ. Groups of about twelve people study the Bible together, grow together, and share a faith journey together. Daily Bible reading is the key to growth, supplemented by these weekly meetings where questions are explored, prayer plays a major role, and lasting friendships are created in a relaxed setting. Classes begin each year in mid-September and run through May.

  • DISCIPLE I - Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study is a 34 week, general survey of the entire Bible reading through most of the Bible while discovering God’s plan for His people.

  • DISCIPLE II - Into the Word, Into the World is a 32 week study of Genesis, Exodus, Luke, and Acts. This study emphasizes the rhythm of coming to God and going for God; of being in the Word and in the world, individually and corporately.

  • DISCIPLE IV - Under the Tree of Life, is a 32 week study of The Old Testament Writings, The Gospel of John, and Revelation. This study calls participants to serious, disciplined Bible study that results in the development of biblically nourished servant - leaders. 

* Please Note: DISCIPLE I is required before DISCIPLE II, and IV.  After completing DISICPLE I you can choose to take any other DISCIPLE in any order you choose.

Graduates who complete all four classes will have read through the Bible twice, have a greater knowledge of who God is, His great love shown through Jesus Christ, and His plan for His people and His Church. It is truly life transforming!
